We'll be going to watch the Tennessee Valley Vipers play arena football this Saturday, June 24th. We're leaving at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 at the door and bring some $ for food and drinks. See you there!

big tree hiking trip

Don't forget about our "Big Tree" hiking trip this Saturday, June 3rd. It's a long hike (approx. 10 miles round trip), so bring lots of water, bug spray, and a sack lunch or big snack. We'll leave the church at 8:30 a.m., so be on time and ready to go. Bring some $ for a meal on the way back. It's going to be a great trip to see the oldest and biggest tree in Alabama. School's Out Swim Party

To celebrate school getting out, we will swim and grill out at the Anderson's house on May 27th. We'll start around 5:00pm and end whenever the water is all out of the pool. Just kidding! Bring $3 for food, your swimsuit, a towel, and your best cannonball!

summer camp

Summer camp has been scheduled for July 28-31 in Panama City Beach, Florida. The cost is $135 for a fun-filled weekend of worship, learning the Bible, and FUN! If you're going, we need a $50 deposit by May 28th. See you at CSI on Sunday nights!

Opportunities for service

There are a couple of opportunities for service coming up. Tuesday night, April 4th, we'll be going to the nursing home to minister to the elderly. Be at church at 5:45 if you want to help.

Also, as a church, we will be giving out stamps at the post office downtown on April 17th. The night before, April 16th, we will cancel the CSI service for the night and help to cut the stamps out and place them on the cards that will be handed out. Try to come to one of these events, or come to both. It's a great opportunity to be a servant to others.

Remember, if you want to see Jesus, be Jesus.

spring break

It's great to be out on Spring Break! Tonight (Monday) we are going bowling. We'll meet at the church at 7 pm and go eat at Zaxby's. Then we'll head to the bowling alley and bowl from 8:30 til around 10 pm. We can rent shoes for $1 and bowl each game for $1.50. It's bargain night and we're going to take advantage of it! See you there!

csi sunday night service

Our Sunday night service is going great so far! We are currently watching Ed Young's series on RPMs (Recognizing Potential Mates). It's a great time of worship and fun, where we keep the main thing (Jesus) the main thing. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!

ice skating

Just a reminder that we'll be going ice skating March 11 at the Point Mallard Ice Complex. We'll leave the church at 6:30 pm, skate for a couple of hours, grab a bite to eat at McDonald's on 6th Ave., and then come back to the church around 10 p.m. The cost is $8 to skate and bring money for food at McDonald's and maybe a snack at the rink.

This is a great opportunity to build relationships with other people and to invite your friends to join us that maybe don't have a church/youth group. I hope everyone can attend.

csi worship service

Barring a few technical difficulties last week (and me knocking down Kevin's microphone, we had a good service last week! I am excited about the potential of this opportunity to minister to you guys and for you to minister to each other.

Don't forget--Winter Jam is Feb. 10 in Birmingham. If you're interested in going, we are leaving the church at 4:00 after school to get there on time and will be back late. The cost is $10, but you'll hardly find a cheaper concert. It will be awesome!

Impact Service

Our Impact Service for teens will start Jan. 15. The service will last from 6:00 to 7:15, but I will open up the doors around 5 pm for you to come in and play XBox, other games, or just hang out. This service will be filled with worship, giveaways, fun, and a practical message from the Bible. It is a great way to "impact" our community by reaching out to students and bringing them to this non-threatening worship service. Bring a friend and I'll see you there!

We'll have some cool music, fun, and I'll try to teach you something relevant that you can use in a way that you can understand. At CSI, we encourage jumping off of bridges (as seen in our picture from the lake retreat this summer) and other crazy things, as long as they are aimed at reaching others for Jesus Christ!

Come and check us out sometime. Right now (Nov. 05) we meet on Wednesdays at the church at 6:30 for Bible study and fun. We'd love to see you there!
